Since 2010, CAFNet has been operating
Community Action Forum for Networking (CAFNet) is a non-government and nonprofit civil society organization which was established and registered in 2010 with the NGO Board of Kenya. The organization was formed by local leaders and key community stakeholders with intent to forge collaborative approaches for addressing emerging community issues and hence the origin of the name ‘Community Action Forum for Networking’. CAFNet’s areas of focus includes women and youth empowerment, environmental conservation, integrated land management, eradication of retrogressive cultural practices including Female Genital Mutilation and forced marriages, peace and conflict resolutions, climate change mitigation and poverty reduction through livelihood enhancement, education and capacity building of women-youth. Here at CAFNet, we believe that even the poorest communities have the resources to improve their lives, environment and future generations. By empowering people to think creatively about their environment and social livelihoods, CAFNet guides them towards sustainable development and a better quality of life. Since 2010, CAFNet has been working and collaborating actively with other stakeholders including IMPACT Trust, Laramatak, National Anti- FGM Board, Maendeleo ya Wanawake and varoius departments in the National and County goverments to empower rural communities in Laikipia towards sustainable development through education, peace building, livelihood improvement and the promotion of community resilience.

Principle Objectives of Organization
- Promote recognition, empowerment and capacity-building of vulnerable groups including women, youth, people with disabilities and indigenous groups.
- Contribute to improved educational enabling facilities amongst vulnerable communities and groups.
- Amplify the voice and rights of vulnerable groups in social and economic set-up in the community.
- Strengthen community resilience to the impacts of climate change.

1. Capacity Building and empowerment of Vulnerable groups:
At CAFNet, we enhance the capacity of women and girls, youth, people with disabilities (PWDs) and Indigenous people and also empower them to become self-reliant and useful people in their society.

2. Poverty alleviation program:
Poverty alleviation program: To motivate economic development within target communities through initiation of youth and women microfinance projects, women beadwork enterprises and livestock SACCOS which promote job creation, self-reliance and enhance government revenue.

3. Educational infrastructure and technology:
Improve the capacity and infrastructure of Secondary and Primary schools to deliver learning through current Information Communication Technology model that embrace online learning and lesson delivery for both teachers and the learners.

4. Skills empowerment Centre:
A future project will entail building a center to cater for the very many vulnerable women and youth who are languishing in poverty due to forced marriages, early pregnancies and other related cultural related vices. The center will promote talent development and skill improvement.

5. Women Rights and Gender Mainstreaming:
CAFNet will endeavor to advocate for gender-mainstreaming in all sectors of leadership and appoint so that women can have an equal right as well. The organization will also champion for eradication of Gender-based violence (GVB) and Female Genital Mutilation(FGM)
